MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
|
|
How Do I
Join? To join the club, a prospective member
must fill out a membership application and have it signed by two DCGI
members. The application must be accompanied by the appropriate dues (see
application). The application will be read at the next two business
meetings and voted on by the members present at the second reading. Full
membership is open to persons who are eighteen (18) years and older, who
are in good standing with the AKC and who subscribe to the purposes of the
club.
What Do
Members Do? Membership in DCGI offers the
opportunity for Dal fanciers to meet and enjoy the company of other
like-minded individuals. In addition, members are encouraged to serve on
committees, assist with public education efforts and/or help at the March
show and summer match.
When And
Where Are The Meetings? Meetings are held on the fourth Saturday of
the month (unless otherwise stipulated) at 7:00 PM. Please Email for directions:

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BELONGING TO THE CLUB?
Newsletters
The club distributes a free
newsletter to members every month, providing information about upcoming
club activities, area show results and articles on Dalmatians. The
newsletter accepts advertising for a nominal fee. The newsletter is
available by subscription to non-members.
There are approximately
60 members who live in the Indianapolis area with another 10 -12 who live
out of state. These members have a vast array of knowledge and experience
of and with Dalmatians which they are eager to share. While several of the
members are active in the sport of showing dogs in conformation and/or
obedience, many members simply enjoy their Dals as
pets.
Educational Opportunities One goal of the club is
to provide educational opportunities to the public and club members.
Various programs are planned throughout the year.
Specialty
Show Involvement The club sponsors a show/obedience trial in March
of each year. The first AKC licensed show was held in 1985. The average
entry of these shows has been 100 dogs, coming from as far away as
Florida, California and even Canada. It is an excellent opportunity to see
the "Cream of the Crop" of Daldom.
